Trip Guide Tasks

Your task will be to plan the routes, campsites, and meals.  You will need to decide what food to buy, which bikes or llamas to use, and the equipment.  The business manager will need this information to set prices for the trip.
• Decide which bikes/llamas to rent for the summer based on features and price.
• Research and map the route for your trips.
• Research and create a list of bike parts, packs, and equipment to bring with based on importance and price.
• Create a menu spreadsheet that lists the food to eat and cost per person for each meal you plan.
• Research campsites, lodges, motels, or resorts to use. Determine cost per person to stay for all three nights.

To Do List

•  Use Internet to research bikes / llamas to use. Divide the purchase price by 12 to determine the rental cost for the trip.
•  Find spare bike parts or llama equipment.  Bikes can break and llamas need halters and packs.  Determine how much you need and how good it should be.
•  Plan the route.  Use one of the Minnesota state trails.  (Bike trails for the bike tours, hiking trails for the llamas.)
•  Make a menu for three full days (three breakfasts, three lunches, and three suppers.)  Enter the cost for every item on the menu.
•  Souvenirs - You want to advertise your business.  You must provide something with your name on it to give to your customers.  It can be a t-shirt, stenciled helmet or hat, personal video, or first aid kit.  Whatever you pick, include the cost.

Important Hints

Bike Tours - You need to bring spare tubes, pumps, and patch kits.  Every rider in the tour must have their own helmet that you provide.  (Those picky insurance rules, you know.)All groups need to bring a first aid kit. When staying in campgrounds, check on the rules for how many may stay at a site.  Some state parks and state forest sites have group sites that are cheaper for large groups. You have to provide full meals.  They don't have to taste good, but they do have to be full meals.
